Noise, Air and Nuisance Solutions

Ciarán has over 12 years local authority experience as a Lead Environmental Health Officer and Environmental Health Services Manager across various authorities across the Midlands. He is a founding member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health’s (CIEH) Noise Panel, co-author of the forthcoming CIEH revised Noise Management Guide and has presented for the Association of Noise Consultants. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Health, holds the Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement and has studied the post-graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control  at the Institute of Acoustics and Trinity College, Dublin.

 

Having supported the organisers of Chinese New Year, Canada Day and Pride events, as lead noise consultant at Trafalgar Square and monitoring and managing noise control at events from clients such as McLaren Formula 1, Isle of Wight Festival, Henley Fest, Wadstock and N-Fest, he has a wealth of experience liaising with Local Authorities, Stakeholders and engineers to deliver down to earth advice, supporting clients in a digestible way, not blinding with science but instead delivering an approachable and relaxed service at various events around the country.

Utilising his air quality knowledge and experience through local authority work he can advise and assist with Annual Status Reports, AQMA creation and revocation, and the authoring of AQAPs for Local authorities. With extensive experience of planning consultations both within the Councils he has worked within and also in consultancy work, can support local authority planning and environmental health teams with Noise, Contaminated Land, Lighting and Air Quality consultations, Environmental Permitting Regulations and Licensing. 

 

Through his experience in multiple successful prosecutions including case managing the largest fine against a domestic bonfire perpetrator in UK legal history, with extensive experience enforcement and prosecution he can aid and advise on ASB and nuisance cases, evidence gathering and best practice.
